Right now, there are so many ways to promote your business or build relationship with your customers; you can use social media such as twitter and Facebook but this doesn’t mean that email marketing is less important.  In fact, it is still considered one of the most effective ways to reach out to your customers. However, you have to know how to do it correctly to achieve your desired results.

Here are the BASIC steps on how to start your EMAIL marketing Campaign:

1.  Get yourself an email marketing tool.

Choose among the list of popular email marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Aweber, Constant Contract, Campaign Monitor etc. and sign up.  You may be wondering why can’t you just use your personal gmail or yahoo account. Well, it is because special email marketing tools are a lot more efficient and effective. Using your personal email is not designed for marketing purposes. It limits you from sending lots of emails at one time.

You can send lots of email at one time.

Helps you avoid spam reports. These tools ensure that your mail are recognized as safe and complies with anti-spam law.

It also offer lots of features such as customizable templates, auto responders, scheduling options, sign up forms, compatibility to different devices and more.

It helps you with the statistics. Through this, you will know how many in your contact lists are reading your mails

2.  Build your email list

Once you’re done signing up with your chosen marketing tool, the next step is to build your e-mail list.  You must create a web form that your visitors will use to subscribe on your email list. To help you increase the number of subscribers, you may offer freebies such as eBooks, software, or other things that you think your customers will like. Remember to offer something related to your niche.

Use your creativity to catch the visitor’s attention. Place a picture of your freebie/s or think of a great tag line.

3.  Communicate and Build Relationship with your Customers

Having a huge number of lists in your email is not enough. You have to make sure that you also have good relationship with every member of your list by giving them interesting contents. After creating an auto-responder for the new subscribers (with your introductory message and the download link for you freebie/s) your next email should contain something they can use to solve their problems or to answer their questions.

The first few mails are really critical since it will help you build or break your relationship with them. If you fail to give what they expect right away, most of your subscriber will leave especially after they get their freebies.

FINAL TIPS

Don’t send too many messages from time to time. Give allowances. You may email them once a week or once every two weeks as long as you don’t irritate your subscribers.

Don’t just focus on promoting your products/services. Feed them also with valuable contents so that your subscribers will look forward to receive messages from you.
